This film was a very powerful depiction of a true event that happened in 2009 at the turn of the year.  This movie definitely captured many issues that the black community faces day in and day out.  We may not even think much of it because we don’t see it personally for ourselves.  This movie offers a redeeming look into the life of Oscar and to see that he has regretted his past decisions that landed him in prison and is trying his very best to amend for these shortcomings.  He throughout the movie grows to become a character that you are pulling for and hate to see be gunned down wrongfully and makes you actually think about what is going on in the world around us.  Are we being protected from the monsters by other types of monsters?  The actual video at the end from the actual events that ensued because of the event at Fruitvale Station were very powerful emotionally to see how many were affected by this one man’s wrongful death.

The barrier of racism is an issue that is clearly brought up from this film and it needs to be addressed.  Not only that but second chances are not given but earned and Oscar was doing all he could to be the man he had to and wanted to actually be for his family and friends.  All in all this was a pretty good movie that brings forth a message that leads us to fight discrimination against other races.  All lives matter not just blacks whites or any other race but we should all be treated equal not better or worse because we are a different color.  So, the outrage of the black community saying black lives matter is indeed justified but slightly misguided by their anger.  We are all human after all therefore no one is perfect.
