Dalton's Lyrical Life Revised

Pictures' Source: covermytunes.com

What do these eight different artists have in common?  They all have a song that has impacted my life in a significant way or are very relatable to me.

 Arms Wide Open – Creed
This song means an awful lot to me because when I hear this song I think of my father.  He used to always play the radio every Saturday when we would clean and it may not seem like much but I really enjoyed just spending time with him.  So, it didn't really matter what I did as long as I was making him happy and this is the song I remember playing the most whilst doing these things.

The Pretender - The Foo Fighters
Now this song is pretty important because I find a lot of my determination in not letting people manipulate me and also it reinforced me to be myself and not be "The Pretender."

Demons - Imagine Dragons

This is an amazing song that helped me understand that everyone has their own demons and is always fighting them and may even need help to defeat them.  So, we should never put one down but only raise them up.  This song resonates with me in a way to ensure I am not alone in this world and that my issues are no more important than any others, an issue is an issue which in turn can be resolved.

Listen to Lost in Thought HERE
Lost in Thought - Jon Hopkins
This song fits my wandering mind to a T and when i first heard it I had thought that it was a perfect
title for it.  For me it definitely sings "focused thought" to me whether it be productive or destructive thought.

Song of the Caged Bird – Lindsey Sterling
This was a song I had heard last semester and I definitely could picture the song going with a bird being caged and then I related it to my life where I felt like I was being caged whether it be by society or myself. All I have to do is fly away and be free of the cage by using the key.

Listen to Mr. Brightside HERE
Mr. Brightside - The Killers
If it is raining where you are right now, rise above the rainclouds and find your sun.
Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles
This one implies that it can always be worse and it is true, it can be.  Not only that but, it will always get better with time especially if you will it to be and really attempt to better yourself and/or the situation.

Listen to The Show Goes On HERE
The Show Goes On - Lupe Fiasco
This is one of my all-time favorites even though it is slightly vulgar.  I tend to push on past the negative even if I'm struggling I know that if I let others know and help me I will make it out. I try not to discriminate or judge others on their past and won't let others control me or influence me for the worse but only for the better, or at least try my best because I am in fact only human.
